Miss Walker, Mr. Earls exchange vows April 5

Permelia Joanna Walker of Kings Creek and Matthew Tucker Earls of Blacksburg were united in marriage on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Bethany Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Clover. The Rev. Alan Arthur Morrow officiated the two o'clock double ring ceremony. A reception, hosted by the bride's parents, followed in the church fellowship hall.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edwin Walker of Kings Creek. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Hayes Mitchell Faulkner of Kings Creek and the late Hugh Grier Faulkner Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Raines Walker who lived in Green Creek, N.C.
Mrs. Earls is a 2003 graduate of Blacksburg High School and 2007 Teaching Fellow graduate of Winthrop University with a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Dance. She is the color guard instructor for the Blacksburg High School marching band.
The groom is the groom of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Howard Keys of Connelly Springs, N.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Barron Earls Jr. of Gaffney. He is the grandson of the late Phyllis Lillian Tucker who lived in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the late James Morrow Hancock who lived in Mt. Vernon, Ind., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Barron Earls Sr. who lived in Blacksburg.
Mr. Earls is a 2000 graduate of Blacksburg High School and attended Spartanburg Technical College. He is employed by the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Shelby and is drum instructor for the Blacksburg High School marching band.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride was attired in a white A-line gown fashioned with a lace overlay adorned with pearls and sequins. The gown was enhanced by a scalloped edge lace layer extending asymmetrically across the front of the dress. Beaded flower appliques were scattered over the gown and semi-cathedral train. Placed over the gown, the bride wore a delicate Alencon lace jacket accented with pearls and sequins. Her cathedral veil was trimmed with pearls and crystals. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of pastel pink imported Upstar tulips with an adorning lace collar intertwined with an antique sheer glove worn by her late Grandmother Walker on her wedding day.
Maid of honor was Sarah Jane Walker, sister of the bride, of Kings Creek. Bridesmaids were Lydia Hayes Jones, cousin of the bride, of Kings Creek; Keri Marissa Gilfillan of Blacksburg; Ashlee Wright Gordon of Goldsboro, N.C.; Rebecca Helen Morrow of West Columbia; Dixie Hope Smith and Mary Allison Wise, both of Clover.
The attendants wore tea-length light pink organza dresses. The Aline dresses with spaghetti straps featured a white waistband with pink embroidery and beading. They carried hand-tied bouquets of delicate pastel pink important Upstar tulips, white monte casino and green hypericum berries. Pink sheer ribbon accented each bouquet.
Roger Shane Dixon of Blacksburg attended the groom as best man. Matson Tucker Earls, son of the groom, also stood with his father during the ceremony. Groomsmen were Leroy Barron Earls Jr. of Gaffney, father of the groom; Jacob Henry Earls of Spartanburg, Willie Barron Earls of Gaffney and James Donald Warren of Blacksburg, all brothers of the groom.
The ceremony music was provided by Lenora Lynn Morrow, organist, of Memphis, Tenn., and James Slaughter Sherrill, soloist, of Clover.
The guest register attendants were Julia Elizabeth Callister and Sara Elisabeth Wise, both of Clover. Caitlin Marie O'Dell of Gaffney, niece of the groom, distributed programs.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence William Rhyne of Clover greeted guests at the reception. Cousins of the bride, Catherine Mahaley Faulkner and Anna Elizabeth Rhyne of Clover, distributed birdseed to the wedding guests.
The wedding was directed by Kim King Smith of Clover.
Mr. and Mrs. Earls will make their home in Blacksburg after a wedding trip to Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

Prior to the wedding, the bride and groom were honored with a number of showers and parties.
The bride's grandmother, Mrs. Hayes Faulkner, and aunt, Karen Jones, hosted a bridesmaids' dinner on Jan. 1 at the Jones' home in Kings Creek.
The women of Bethany Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church honored the bride with a miscellaneous shower on Feb. 9. Hostesses were Nancy Callister, Roxanne Carroll, Mary Clay Crawford, Shirley Davis, Susan Gordon, Kim Smith and Peggy Wells.
On March 8, a miscellaneous bridal shower was given by Debbie Faulkner at her home in Clover.
A honeymoon bridal shower was hosted by the groom's mother, Holly Keys; his sisters, Linnea O'Dell and Katrina Philbeck; and his niece, Caitlin O'Dell, at the Eastside Baptist Church fellowship building on March 15.
A groomsmen's luncheon was hosted by Louise Biggers at her home in Clover on March 15.
Julia Callister and Elisabeth Wise were hostesses for a bachelorette party and sleep over on March 21 at the Courtyard Marriott in Huntersville, N.C.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the couple's parents, was held at Kelly's Steak House in Blacksburg on Friday evening, April 4.
