Mary Josephine Phillips

Mary Josephine "Josie" Littlejohn Phillips, 62, of 510 Thompson St., died Sunday in Brookview Healthcare Center.

Widow of John Edward Phillips, she was born in Gaffney, a daughter of the late Nesbitt Littlejohn, Sr. and the late Katherine Black Littlejohn.

She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and a former employee of the Peachtree Centre.

She was also preceded in death by siblings, Nesbitt Littlejohn, Sr., Barbara Baxter, Betty Littlejohn, David Littlejohn, and Eddie Dean Littlejohn.

Surviving is a daughter, Vickie Littlejohn of Gaffney; a son, Michael Edward Phillips, Sr. (Debra) of Gaffney; a sister, Carolyn Littlejohn Davidson of Gaffney; four brothers, James Littlejohn (Virginia) of Chesapeake, VA, Arthur Ray Littlejohn, Sr. (Shirley), Kenneth Dewayne Littlejohn and Wilbert Littlejohn (Stephanie), all of Gaffney; sisters-in-law, Mildred Littlejohn and Gloria Jean Littlejohn, of Gaffney; a special friend, Willie Hemphill of Gaffney; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, 4 p.m.., in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with Rev. C.A. Wallace officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family is at the home of Vickie Littlejohn, 1123 Filter Plant Road.
