Wesley (PawPaw) Stutts
Retired from Gaffney Manufacturing Company

 
Wesley Floyd Stutts, 78, of 111 Filter Plant Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Ravenal, S.C., he was the husband of Johnsie Baker Stutts and son of the late Andrew Stutts and Jamie Stutts. Mr. Stutts was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served for 16 years. He was retired from Gaffney Manufacturing Company and attended East Gaffney Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son, Keefer D. Stutts of Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters, Rita Painter of Gaffney and Alena Stone and husband, Tony, of Spartanburg; six grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; two greatgreat grandchildren; and special friends, Edna Howard of Gaffney and Stephen Morrin of Charlotte, N.C.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Stutts was preceded in death by eight brothers and a sister.

Services will be held Friday, April 25, at 4 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Ron Jackson. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

Visitation was held Thursday, April 24, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Gaffney Baptist Church, Family Life Center Fund, 2308 Cherokee Ave., Gaffney, S.C. 29340.

The family will be at the residence.
