A brush truck from Grassy Pond Volunteer Fire Department was called in to assist the Gaffney Fire Department with a small brush fire that erupted Friday afternoon behind the Lowe's Home Improvement shopping plaza.
Luckily, conditions weren't too dry and the fire was extinguished in a short time.
"It was in a little patch of overgrowth," Gaffney Fire Chief Nathan Ellis said.
Ellis didn't know what started the blaze.
Due to its location several hundred yards down the hill behind the shopping plaza, Gaffney firefighters had to access the fire on foot.
