Elaine Epley
Retired from Springs Ind.

 
Marion Elaine Faircloth Epley, 83, a resident of Magnolia Manor in Inman, formerly of 129 Cooper St., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 6, 2008.

Born in Fayetteville, N.C., she was the widow of Jack Sewell Epley and daughter of the late Charles Westley Faircloth and Annie B. Faircloth Shaheen.

Mrs. Epley was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served her country in World War II. She was retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Beech Street Presbyterian Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are a niece and caregiver, Frances Blackwell, and several grand-nephews and great-grand-nephews and a great-grand-niece.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Epley was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas Faircloth, Sammy Faircloth and Bailey Faircloth.

A special thank you is extended to Magnolia Manor of Inman and Hospice of the Carolina Foot-hills for the care given to Mrs. Epley.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 8, at 11 a.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Lee Moseley. The family will meet with friends at the graveside after the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, N.C. 28722; or to the charity of one's choice.

Family members will be at their respective homes.
