BLACKSBURG - Shirley Martin Medley, 65, of 1029 Possum Trot Road, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Mrs. Medley was the wife of Larry Medley and daughter of the late Sela and Helen Taylor Martin. She was a retired textile worker.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Gerald Henderson of Columbia and Larry Dean Medley of Cartersville, Ga.; two sisters, Brenda Motts of Gaffney and Harriet Gunn of Jacksonville, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Medley was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby "Stack" Martin.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 9, at 1 p.m. at Clingman Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Vernon Craig.

Visitation was held Thursday, May 8, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at White Columns.
