Rodeo and country festival starts Friday

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - Dust off your western hat and shine your boots. It's rodeo time at the Bar H Arena.

The 21st annual Bar H Championship Rodeo and Country Festival is set for Friday, May 16, and Saturday, May 17. The country festival will begin each day at 6 p.m. and the rodeo starts at 8 p.m. The country festival and rodeo are both included in the admission price of $12 for adults and $6 for children six to 12.

The rodeo features six fast-paced sanctioned events. Past and current champions compete against future champions in bareback bronc riding, calf roping, cowgirls' breakaway roping, team roping, cowgirls' barrel race and bull riding. A special children's miniature Brahma bull riding competition will also be held.
