Ruth J. Wyatt

COWPENS - Ruth Jeanette Johnson Wyatt, 84, of 4233 Old Georgia Hwy., widow of Luther Wyatt, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Cowpens, Mrs. Wyatt was the daughter of the late Oscar and Ovella Green Johnson. She was a homemaker, a loving, caring,

heavenly wife for 68 years and a heavenly, caring,

compassionate mother and grandmother that always placed God first in her home and all of her family's heart. She was a member of White Plains Baptist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Ann Wyatt Brown of Spartanburg, Cathey Wyatt Quinn of Cowpens and Sandra Wyatt Hyman of Gaffney; a son, Randy Joe Guyton of Gaffney; a sister, Louise Johnson of Gaffney; six grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wyatt was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Lee Wyatt and David Wayne Wyatt; a sister, Eva Buff; and two brothers, Loyd Johnson and James Johnson.

The family is at the home and will receive friends Saturday, July 26, from 6-8 p.m. at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home at Frederick Memorial Gardens.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, July 27, at 2 p.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens with Dr. Terry Duvall officiating.

Pallbearers will be Chris Kirby, Eric Quinn, Dustin Guyton, Kevin Wilson, Ric Makupson and Chip Ballard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Magnolias of Gaffney, Activities Department, 223 Tiffany Park, Gaffney, S.C. 29341; or to Magnolia Place of Spartanburg, 8020 White Ave., Spartanburg, S.C. 29303.
