Pauline (Maw Maw) Ellis

Pauline (Maw Maw) Wells Ellis, 88, of 168 Brittany Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Garland Wallace Ellis and daughter of the late William Wells and Alice Hamrick Wells. Mrs. Ellis was a homemaker and member of East Gaffney Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher. She devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Wayne Ellis and wife, LaVerne, of Gaffney; three daughters, Gail Huskey and husband, Bobby, Linda Bostic and husband, Lewis, and Elaine Finley and husband, Rev. Bob Finley, all of Gaffney; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Ellis of Gaffney; 10 grandchildren, Kim McCall and husband, John, Tracy Taylor and husband, Sammy, Patty Parker, Tim Bostic and wife, Patti, Jeffrey Finley and fiance' Heather Rose, Jennifer Finley and fiance', Kyle Parker, Al Masters and wife, Alison, Jason Masters, Kevin Ellis and fiance', Angie Ramirez, and Jonathan Cooper and wife, Deanna; 18 greatgrandchildren, Billy and Devon Colin, Trey, Mallory and Seth Taylor, B.J., Colby and Kayti Parker, Zach, Jacob, and Sarah Beth Bostic, Kayla, Jack and Sam Masters, Thomas, Anna Grace, Stuart and Mary Alice Cooper; and a twin sister, Aileen Byars of Gaffney.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Neal Ellis; four sisters, Elsie Tate, Laura Carter, Jackie Freeman and Lois Jolly; and three brothers, John Wells, Lewis Wells and Leonard Wells.

The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 5, from 3:30-4:45 p.m. at East Gaffney Baptist Church Parlor. Services will immediately follow at 5 p.m. at East Gaffney Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Jackson and Rev. Bob Finley officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
