Cedric Proctor showcased his big play ability in a first half scoring barrage Friday as Chesnee cruised to a 55-0 victory over Blacksburg.
Proctor rushed for 153 yards and four touchdowns. The senior quarterback got things started with a 75-yard run on the Eagles' second offensive series.
After being stopped at the 1- yard line, Proctor scored on the next play.
Blacksburg had four turnovers to help Chesnee build a 27-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Blacksburg was forced to start from the 3-yard line when Brandon Wilson fell as he tried to field the kickoff. A fumble by Wilson two plays later led to a 2-yard touchdown run by Chesnee tailback Bryan McEntire. After the extra point was blocked, Chesnee led 13-0.
Proctor scored on a 24-yard run on Chesnee's next offensive drive.
Defensive back Zack Miller intercepted a pass from Blacksburg quarterback Darrell Walton. Following the turnover, McIntrye scored on a 8-yard touchdown run to give Chesnee a 27-0 lead on the last play of the first quarter.
"I felt we came out a little intimidated. This is something we will have to overcome as a football team," Blacksburg coach Mickey Moss said. "We have so much work to do. We are not getting it done in practice during the week. There are a lot of things for some of our players that seem a little more important than football right now."
Chesnee increased its lead to 34-0 in the second quarter when Proctor threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jaylen Martin. Proctor scored on runs of 9- and 10- yards as Chesnee built a 48-0 halftime lead.
Blacksburg had a scoring opportunity late in the second quarter.
Walton got loose for a 26- yard run. Officials hit Chesnee with two personal fouls after wide receiver Rashad Earls was hit late out of bounds. The penalties gave Blacksburg the ball on the 10- yard line with 23 seconds left. Walton was intercepted on the next play.
Chesnee running back Josh Jones scored on a 44-yard run for the only points of the second half.
Blacksburg (0-4) does not play this week before traveling to Woodruff on Sept. 26.
