Ladies Progressive Club hosts annual Jack and Jill contest Dec. 8

Cabria Fernanders and Caleb Colston were title winners in the Ladies Progressive Club's annual Jack and Jill contest. The Ladies Progressive Club held its annual Jack and Jill contest on Monday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. at B.D. Lee Elementary School.

One boy and four girls competed for the titles of Jack and Jill. The program was titled "Christmas Spirit" and entertainment was presented by the Praise Dancers of Bethel Baptist Church. The organization's president, Floree Smith, extended appreciation to the children's parents and the public for their support of the annual fund raiser. The proceeds enable the club to provide services for the needy and worthwhile causes locally, statewide and nationally.

Cabria Fernanders, daughter of Shurandall Fernanders won the 2008 Little Jill title. She was sponsored by Rubye C. Sanders. Caleb Colston, son of Charles and Jamika Colston, was named 2008 Little Jack. He was sponsored by Jewette S. Patterson.

First runner-up for Little Jill was Skyla Rogers, daughter of LaTreva Roberts and Duston Rogers. She was sponsored by Kathleen Littlejohn. Second runner-up for Little Jill was Nelsora Ellis, daughter of Sara Ellis. Her sponsor was Jessie Mae Manning. Third runner-up was Meleeah Jefferies, daughter of Stacey Jefferies. She was and sponsored by Olga Littlejohn.
