Graves leads Lady Saints to win

The Limestone College women's basketball team defeated Conference Carolinas rival Mount Olive 73-60 Saturday night at the Timken Center.

The Lady Saints improve to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play, while Mount Olive slips to 6-2 overall (2-1 league).

Limestone's Addie Graves recorded her first doubledouble of the season with 12 points and a game-high 13 boards. Blanca Gonzalez scored a season- and gamehigh 29 points, while Breanna Ray contributed 10 points.

Tomeka Prichard led the Trojans with 17 points, while Brittney Robich scored 16. Alisa Jones recorded 10 rebounds.

The lead went back and forth in the first seven minutes of the game until Limestone started to pull away. The Lady Saints led by as many as 7 points with 6 minutes left in the first half, but Mount Olive started to close the gap as the visitors cut Limestone's advantage to 25- 24 at halftime.

Mount Olive took a brief lead in the second half, opened the scoring with 3- pointers from Robich and Prichard. But Limestone tied the game minutes later 30- 30.

It was a tight contest for most of the second half, with four ties and five lead changes in the first 16 minutes. Limestone took the lead for good with 4:31 remaining on the clock.

Thirteen of Limestone's 20 points in the final four minutes were from the free throw line.

Limestone hosts St. Andrews today at 5:30 p.m. at the Timken Center in Gaffney.
