Indians place third at tourney

The Gaffney High wrestling team placed third at the Bamberg Raider Duals on Saturday.

Gaffney's Blake Phillips earned the most outstanding wrestler award. Phillips posted a 5-0 mark with three pins to improve his overall mark to 19-2.

Gaffney's Dillion Haney and Garrett Woodworth also had 5-0 marks at the tournament.

The Indians beat North Charleston, 66-12, and Ashley Ridge, 57-18, but lost to Edisto, 40-35, and tournament champion, Bluffton, 44- 26.

Gaffney's opens its region schedule Thursday at York.
