L'Etoile Club's 55th winter formal dance is set for Saturday, Jan. 10
      T he L'Etoile Club will hold its 55th winter formal dance on Saturday, Jan. 10. A highlight of the club's year, the dance will be at Broad River Electric Corporation. Festivities begin at 8 p.m. and continue until midnight. The organization's 24 members will be introduced at 8:15 p.m. by Dennis Fowler, Cherokee County Coroner, who will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

      Dear Annie: My daughter is 9 years old and a little heavy for her age. "Beth" tends to eat too much, but what really worries me is that she hides how much she's eating and when she's doing it. The fact that she feels the need to conceal her eating disturbs me. I am not in a position to take her to a therapist or anything like that.

      Auditions The Gaffney Little Theatre will hold auditions for Talking With..., a series of monologues centered on women and the life lessons they have endured, on Thursday, Jan. 8, at 5:30 p.m. in the old Brown Furniture building.
