Strickland expects interest level to pick up

      The Gaffney High football offices should be busy places over the next few weeks. That's when college recruiters are expected to ratchet up their efforts to lure some players to their schools. Gaffney High football coach Phil Strickland said the activity level will increase since college coaches were allowed to begin recruiting again on Jan. 2.

Lady Indians struggle offensively in 57-39 setback to Spartanburg

      This isn't the way the Gaffney Lady Indians wanted to finish their non-region portion of their schedule. Gaffney shot poorly from the field and committed too many turnovers in a 57-39 loss to Spartanburg on Tuesday. Gaffney played its first game without forward Ashlee Tate, who injured her knee against Byrnes this past Friday.

      Wrestling club to host tournament Team Indian Youth Wrestling Club is hosting an AAU Tournament this Saturday, Jan. 10 at Gaffney High School. This tournament will be for ages four years through high school, with wrestlers participating from all over South Carolina.

The Lady Saints climb to 5-4 with the victory (3-1 Conference Carolinas). Whitney Todd led all scorers with her season-high 22 points. She also posted a game-high 7 boards.
