POLICE REPORT
A vehicle parked in the 100 block of Carver Street sustained about $150 in damage Jan. 4.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone threw a rock at the vehicle, striking it in the left rear door.
About $800 in vandalism damage was reported on White Oak Drive on Jan. 3.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone scratched the paint on both sides of a 1991 Pontiac while it was parked in the 100 block. The car was scratched from front to rear, police said.
Nearly $2,200 in theft and damage losses were reported following a vehicle break-in on Wolf Den Lane.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone broke out both side windows of a Ford F-150 pickup and stole a Kenwood CD player and a speaker box from the vehicle. The break-in occurred between 11 p.m. Jan. 2 and 11 a.m. Jan. 3.
About $350 in damage was reported following the Jan. 3 break-in of a Davis Street home.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, the break-in occurred between 5 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. The burglar( s) damaged a lamp, a mirror, sheets and other items and rummaged through the home. Nothing was listed in the report as missing.
More than $3,000 in theft and damage losses were reported following the Jan. 4 discovery of a burglary on Brookwood Lane.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone broke out a window to gain access to the home in the 100 block between 7 p.m. Jan. 3 and 9 a.m. Jan. 4. The thief or thieves stole about $500 in jewelry, $1,900 in electronics and $400 in games. Damage was estimated at an additional $300.
A car was vandalized with gunfire Jan. 3. on Killion Drive.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone shot five holes in the passenger side of a 1986 Chevrolet Caprice parked in the 100 block near an apartment. The malicious damage occurred between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.
More than $1,300 in personal possessions were reported stolen following the break-in of a storage unit.
According to a report at the Gaffney Police Department, a River Drive woman's storage unit at Piedmont Self Storage on North Logan Street was broken into between Dec. 30 and Jan. 3. Someone had cut the lock off the unit. Missing from the unit were a 27-inch Panasonic television, a Dell desktop computer, clothes, a microwave oven and miscellaneous items.
A vehicle stolen from an Old Georgia Highway parking lot was subsequently involved in a wreck on Highway 105.
According to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, the 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue owned by a Jean's Drive woman was taken from the 1500 block of Old Georgia Highway between 11 p.m. Jan. 3 and 8 a.m. Jan. 4. The vehicle was subsequently involved in a wreck on Highway 105. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck.
