Mary Ellen Littlejohn

Mary Ellen Norris Littlejohn, 57, of 700 Broad St., passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 11, 2009, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born Nov. 26, 1951, in Shelby, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Gary Norris and the late Lucille Savage Norris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ernestine Gertrude Norris, and a brother, Gary Norris Jr. Ms. Littlejohn was a former employee of Limestone Mills.

Surviving are Breon Makupson and Tina Makupson, both of Gaffney, whom she reared as her son and daughter; two nieces whom she reared as her daughters, Cheryl Dawkins of Spartanburg and Anita Norris of Gaffney; two uncles, Ralph Savage and Randolph Bubba Savage, both of Gaffney; an aunt, Vinyl Savage of Dayton, Ohio; three special friends, Calvin Linder, Elaine Colston and Roy Dean Rainey, all of Gaffney; and a host of nephews, other nieces and relatives.
