The Lady Indians were in control from the start, jumping to a 17-8 lead at the end of the first quarter.

They stretched their advantage to 38-18 at the half.

Gaffney coach Stacey Parris emptied her bench in the second half as the Lady Indians built a 52-26 cushion at the end of third quarter.

Keisha Leach's layup put the Lady Indians up 62-29 midway through the final quarter.

Leach led the Lady Indians in scoring.

Parris said the Lady Indians were able to give their reserves some valuable playing time as well as prepare for a region showdown with Nation Ford High School on Friday.

"We were able to work on some things we needed to work on," she said. "We got to work on pressuring the ball more on defense to take away the 3-point shot and on offense we worked on being more patient against the zone."

The Lady Indians improve to 8-4 overall. They are 1-0 in Region III-4A.

Nation Ford is 11-2 overall and 1-0 in the region after knocking off preseason region favorite Northwestern last week.

"It's going to be a big game," Parris said.
