Ashley Dawn Hampton and Matthew Boyd Earls Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Robert Alexander announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Dawn Hampton, to Matthew Boyd Earls.

Miss Hampton is the daughter of Joseph and Vickie Alexander and the late Claude Randy Hampton. A graduate of Blacksburg High School, Limestone College and Lander University, she is a kindergarten teacher at Blacksburg Primary.

Mr. Earls is the son of Keith and Alice Ramsey and the late Gerald Conrad Earls. A graduate of Blacksburg High School, Spartanburg Tech and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Academy, he is a deputy with the Cherokee County Sheriffs Department.

The couple attends Hopewell Baptist Church and plan to be married on May 16 at the home of the bride's parent's. A reception will be held at Lake Whelchel following the ceremony.
