Harold (Hal) Dalton Sr.

Retired truck driver and electrician

Harold Dean (Hal) Dalton, Sr., 70, of 608 Willow St., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Jane Hartman Dalton and son of the late Kelly Dalton and Mae

Bright Dalton. He was a graduate of Gaffney High

School and a retired truck driver and electrician. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Harold Dean Dalton Jr. of Sarasota, Fla., and Matthew Stewart Dalton of Murrietta, Calif.; four stepsons, Bobby Hartman, Donald Hartman, Billy Hartman and Michael Hartman, all of Maryland; a stepdaughter, Teresa Hovaker of Texas; three grandchildren, Brandon Dalton, Ryan Dalton, both of California, and Justin Dalton of Florida; 14 step-grandchildren; and three sisters, Thelma Kirby of New Ellenton, S.C., Jean McGaha and Lib Hill, both of Gaffney.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Dalton was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Dalton and Joe Dalton, and a sister, Ruth Parker.

Memorial services will be held Friday, Feb. 6, at 4 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby L. Blakely officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
