Julia S. Campbell
Julia Frances Shokes Campbell, 82, of 510 Thompson St., passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at her home.
Born in Charleston, Mrs. Campbell was the daughter of the late Harold Loftis Shokes Sr. and the late Julia Brockington Speer. She was a lifelong Episcopalian and a member of the Church of Incarnation. Mrs. Campbell retired as an accountant and a registered nurse and did work for Poole's Jewelers.
Surviving are a son, Tom Campbell of Blacksburg; a granddaughter, Lyndsey Kathryn Campbell of Blacksburg; a brother, Harold Loftis Shokes Jr. of Scranton, S.C.; and a half-brother, Merill Speer of Savannah, Ga.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Shokes Conolly.
Services will be private, however, interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
