HICKORY GROVE — Finley Dover, 86, of 2789 Howells Ferry Road, passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Hospice House and Community Care.

Born in Hickory Grove, Mr. Dover was the husband of

Marie Melton Dover

of the home and son of the late Jim and Mamie Peterson Dover. He worked as a cutter in textiles, served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Hickory Grove Church of God.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Ricky Dover of Hickory Grove; a daughter, Vickie Boyd of York; a sister, Susie Weaver of Clover; two grandchildren and one greatgrandson.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Dover was preceded in death by a grandson, Randy Dover; a sister, Bessie Dover; and two brothers, Palmer Dover and Jimmy Dover.

Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m. at Hickory Grove Church of God, with the Revs. Mike Goodwin and Milton Smith officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 6-8 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary in Blacksburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice Home and Community Care, 2275 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
