Ovenia Poole

Ovenia Bishop Poole, 84, of 197 Burnt Gin Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Bookview Healthcare.

Born in Greenville, but a life long resident of Gaffney, she was the wife of the late Lewis Poole and the daughter of the late Wylie Edgar Bishop and Laura Manuel Bishop.

She was retired from the textiles industry and a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Poole and wife, Martha of Gaffney and Roy Poole of Gaffney; one daughter, Sarah Poole of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Howie Poole, Kelly McAbee, Scott McAbee and Kim Jones; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Smith of Blacksburg; a son-in-law, Ralph McAbee of Gaffney. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda P. McAbee, two brothers, Charles Bishop and Edgar Bishop and one sister, Eula Mae Peeler.

The family will receive friends anytime at the residence. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Dwight Easler and Rev. Jerry Ford officiating.
