BLACKSBURG - Howard Dean Harrison, 52, of 127 Harrison Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Cherokee County, he was the husband of Betty Sue Peterson Harrison and son of Bobby Joe Harrison and Joan Harris Harrison. He was employed by Reddy Ice and a former employee of Nestlé. He was a member of Cherokee Falls Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a son, Chris Dean Harrison of the home; a daughter, Tabitha Wilson and husband, William, of Blacksburg; three grandchildren, Brittany Wilson, Jordan Wilson and Cason Dean Harrison; a brother, Joey Harrison of Gaffney; a sister, Debra Duncan and husband, Scott, of Blacksburg; and a grandmother, Audrey Harrison of Gaffney.

Services were held Sunday, April 5, at 2 p.m. at the Cherokee Falls Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 696 Batchelor Drive, Blacksburg, with the Revs. Tim Knotts and Don Horton officiating. Interment was in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were the Men's Sunday School Class of Cherokee Falls Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Peterson, Jordan Wilson and Cason Dean Harrison.

Visitation was held Saturday, April 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherokee Falls Baptist Church Renovation Fund, 109 School Street, Blacksburg, SC 29702.

The family will be at the residence.
