Thelma Taber
Retired from Alcoa
Thelma Louise Blanchard Taber, 76, of 243 Lake Tree Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 3, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born in Newberry, she was the widow of Herbert W. Taber and daughter of the late Major B. Blanchard and Alma Adkins Blanchard. Mrs. Taber was retired from Alcoa and enjoyed helping her children at Brandi's. She was a member of Cherokee Gospel Tabernacle. Surviving are four sons, Dennis Coleman and fiancé, Angie Willis, Richard Taber and wife, Cindy, Robert Coleman and wife, Faye, and Ricky Coleman and wife, Tammy, all of Gaffney; two daughters, Teresa Stacy and husband, David, and Kathy Carter, both of Gaffney; a brother, Tommy Bumgardner and wife, Leo, of Whitmire; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Taber was preceded in death by a son, Bob Coleman. Services will be held Monday, April 6, at 3 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Holloman officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held Sunday, April 5, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. The family will be at the residence.
