Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Two Cherokee County School District schools and the administration building were placed on lockdown Tuesday morning as police from multiple agencies responded to a suspicious person report near Granard Middle School.
The Gaffney Police Department, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and the S.C. Highway Patrol all sent personnel and police K-9 handlers to Granard Middle School to comb the area and the woods behind the school, but no one was found after an intensive search.
Police said Gaffney High School and the district administration building were placed on lockdown due to their close proximity to Granard Middle School, nothing more.
All three buildings were released from lockdown about an hour after the incident began.
