Frances Baumgardner

Frances Coleman Baumgardner, 66, of 1034 Pacolet Hwy., Lot 6, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Melvin Baumgardner and daughter of the late Jess Coleman and Mary Elizabeth Fowler Coleman. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by a son, James Baumgardner and wife, Jeanne, of Rock Hill; two daughters, Pamela Baumgardner of Gaffney and Angela Mullinax and husband, Chris, of Gaffney; two cousins, Mary Neal and husband, Bobby, of Abingdon, Va., and Royann Thompson and husband, Roger, of Chesnee; six grandchildren, Janice Craig and husband, Rodney, Amanda Baumgardner, Adam Baumgardner, Jennifer Hagler and husband, Brandon, Joseph Mullinax and Keely Baumgardner; two great-cousins, Alysia Blevins and husband, Tim, and Brad Martin; five great-grandchildren; a brother, David Coleman and wife, Sandra, of Gaffney; and a sister, Alma Mayfield of Gaffney.

Mrs. Baumgardner was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Baumgardner; two grandsons, Joseph Lee Bishop and Joshua Wayne Baumgardner; a great-granddaughter, Angel Craig; three sisters, Lucille Thompson, Margaret Estes and Jessie Mae Huntington; and two brothers, Paul Edward Coleman and Thomas Coleman.

Services will be held Friday, May 8, at 3 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Mickey Mullinax and Eddie Smith officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

Visitation was held Thursday, May 7, from 7-9 p.m. at the home of David Coleman, 2921 Chesnee Hwy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society "Breast Cancer," Cherokee County Unit, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
