Faye E. Mincey
Faye Ellington Mincey, 82, of Cramerton, N.C., passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Rehabilitation and Health Care Center of Gastonia.
Mrs. Mincey was born Feb. 10, 1927, in Belmont, N.C., daughter of the late Ray David Ellington and Velma Gertrude Thomas Ellington. She was a devoted and loving mother, a lifelong member of Cramer Memorial Methodist Church and retired from Burlington Industries.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mincey was preceded in death by her husband J.L. Mincey; brothers, the Rev. Thomas Ellington and Douglas Ellington; and sister, Daphne Adams.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Rehabilitation and Health Center of Gastonia.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 9, at 2 p.m. at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, Gastonia, conducted by the Rev. Vernon Craig. Interment will be at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mincey is survived by her daughters and sons-inlaw, Susan M. and Chip Thomas of Blacksburg and Cecelia and Eddie Marlow of Shelby; a brother, Jack Ellington of Belmont; two sisters, Edna Brown of Gastonia and Ruth Heafner of Belmont; three grandchildren, Ray Fox Jr., Gary Thomas and Michelle Thomas; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson Thomas and Samantha Privett.
