BLACKSBURG - Vernon Bernard Lockhart, 45, of 201 Whitaker St., died Friday morning, June 5, 2009, at Regional Hospice Home, Spartanburg.

Son of William Mitchell Lockhart Sr. and Betty Galmer Lockhart of Blacksburg, he was born in Gaffney. He was a member of Divine True Holiness Church of God and an employee of Magnolia Finishing.

Also surviving are a brother, William Mitchell Lockhart Jr., and a sister, Martha Lockhart, all of Blacksburg; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 11, at 2 p.m. at Divine True Holiness Church of God. Services will follow at 3 p.m. with Bishop Eddie Lockhart officiating, assisted by Overseer Theodore A. Lockhart. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
