Mae Sue Gaffney
Mae Sue Gaffney, 102, of 816 S. Johnson St., died Thursday, 9:30 p.m., in her home.
Widow of Reddick Gaffney, she was born in Chesnee, a daughter of the late Lula Smith.
She was a member of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Mother of the Church, member of the Jubilee Choir, Missionary, Flower Committee , and Willing Workers.
Mrs. Gaffney was preceded in death by a daughter, Lula Halsey Oglesby and grandson, Bernay Halsey (Brenda).
Surviving are three grandchildren, Gwendolette Halsey-Dawkins (Elywin) of Gaffney, Kenneth Oglesby of Spartanburg, and Rev. Roderick Oglesby of Gaffney; a foster-son, Joseph Gaffney (Myrone) of California; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, 3 p.m., in Limestone Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Golden officiating, assisted by Dr. Michael A. Bridges, and the Revs. Mary Jefferies, Patricia Dawkins and Danny Burnside,
Interment will be in Limestone Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church Tuesday at 2 p.m until the hour of the service.
The family is at her home and at the home of the Rev. Roderick Oglesby, 119 Mountain Laurel Trail in Shalimar Sub- Division.
