YORK — Mrs. Sallie Sarah Smith Byers, 91, of 205 w. Jefferson St., York, died Friday, June 12 at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.

Born March 22, 1918, in Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Jim King and Kensey Guyton Smith.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 16, at 2:30 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church in Sharon. Burial will be in the church cemetary.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 15, from 6-7 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home in York.
