Reunion

The Wylie family reunion is planned Sunday, June 28, at 1 p.m. at Buffalo Baptist Church in Blacksburg.

Attendees are asked to bring food and beverages. Paper products and ice will be provided. For more information, call (864) 680-7444.

The descendants of John and Ruth Duckett Glenn will hold a family reunion on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19, in Union. The cost for the reunion is $25 per person.

Benefit

The Cherokee County Detention Center will sponsor a benefit for cancer patient Sgt. Vera Holly on Saturday, June 27. A yard sale will begin at 7 a.m. and the hot dog sale will be from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. All proceeds will go to Mrs. Holly. The event will be in front of the Cherokee County Detention Center.

Have you always wanted to sell or buy on eBay but don't know how to get started?

The Gaffney Senior Center, 499 W. Rutledge Ave., will be sponsoring an eBay class on Saturday, June 27, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Normally an $89 course, the center is offering it for $45. Instructor is Patty Massullo of Greer, a certified education specialist trained through eBay.

Registration and payment must be made by June 17. Bring a laptop as the center is now wireless.

The Gaffney Senior Center at 499 W. Rutledge Avenue, will be having a health fair/expo on Friday, June 19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. We will offer cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure and foot screenings.

Bible schools

Eastside Baptist Church in Blacksburg will have Vacation Bible School June 14-19 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The theme is "Studio Go!"

Dover Baptist Church in Shelby will have Vacation Bible School June 15-18. Crocodile Dock fun begins at 5:30 p.m with supper. The bible school starts at 8 p.m. and continues until 8:30 p.m.

Vacation Bible School will be held June 22-26 from 5-7 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation, 308 College Drive.

The bible school is designed for children, youths and adults. Each evening will begin with a simple supper.

Mikes Creek Baptist Church will be having its annual Vacation Bible School beginning Sunday, June 14, and continuing through Thursday, June 18, at 6 p.m.

Ebenezer Baptist Church will host Vacation Bible School Monday, June 15th through Thursday, June 18th from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. nightly. This Year's Theme: The Jesus' Chronicles.

The program starts with a light snack/ supper at 5:30 p.m. and will dismiss nightly at 8:30 p.m.

Church news

Gaffney Free Will Baptist Church, 187 Whelchel Road, will end revival services tonight, with service beginning at 7 p.m.

Guest speaker will be the Rev. Cliff Wilson of High Point Free Will Baptist Church, Lancaster.

A special singing will be presented.

The Voice of Triumph will hold its annual youth camp and convention at the church located at 179 Corry Road in Blacksburg from June 24-26.

The Wednesday night service will be held at 7 p.m., with service times the following days at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The evening speaker will be "Big Mo" Ostranger of Dothan, Ala., with various speakers in the morning services. There will be a meal after each service for a free will offering.
