Fun on tap for 4th of July at Cowpens Battlefield
Revolutionary War re-enactors fire a cannon during a live demonstration during last year's Fireworks and Family Fun Day festivities at Cowpens National Battlefield. Cowpens National Battlefield's summer schedule is full of free fun for the family.
The reenacting unit of Continental Soldiers, 1st Maryland, Southern Campaign will have a living history encampment on June 20, July 4, August 1, and September 5. Re-enactors from the S.C. Rangers will set up a living history encampment and give musket and rifle firing demonstrations.
Please check our website two weeks prior to the event for the exact firing times on those days.
On July 3, Cowpens National Battlefield will host Family Fun and Fireworks.
The day will begin with guided battlefield walks at 9:30 a.m. The free fireworks display begins at 9 p.m.On the third Sunday of each month through Septembe.
Cowpens National Battlefield is also having a Sunday in the Park. From 2-4 p.m., a volunteer will be at the Robert Scruggs House to demonstrate and teach quill pen writing and other 18th century skills.
Cowpens National Battlefield is the site of the American victory over the British on January 17, 1781 and is located 10 miles west of Gaffney and 3 miles east of Chesnee at the intersection of Highways 11, 110, and 221-A.
