Post 109's Bobby Jackson receives congratulations after scoring a run earlier in the season against Union. Post 109's Tyler Wilson struck out 13 - a number that would make Roger Clemens blush - in helping Post 109 improve to 4-0 with a 5-2 win over previously unbeaten Greer on Tuesday.

Wilson ran into control problems in the first inning but was virtually unhittable from the fifth inning on, allowing only five hits.

"He threw the ball well," Post 109 coach Jeff Osment said. "He struggled a little with his control in the first inning but I don't think he allowed a hit after the fifth inning."

Greer capitalized on Wilson's wildness and a couple of errors to jump out to a 2-0 first-inning lead. But Post 109 negated that deficit quickly. Michael Hughey had a solo homer in the second and reached on an error and scored on Bubba Wright's 2-out single in the fourth to tie it.

Post 109 took the lead for good with three runs in the seventh. Wright lead off with a single before John Michaels walked and Lee Gerwick advanced both runners with a sacrifice.

McCrae Norton reached on an error but Wright was thrown out at home on the play. No matter, Post 109 wouldn't be denied. With the coolness of Albert Pujols, Ryan Westbrook stroked a 2-out single to give Post 109 a 3-2 lead. Bryan Parsons reached on an error to score Norton with Post 109's fourth run before the final run came home on a perfectly-executed double steal.

Westbrook, Wright and Hughey all had three hits for surging Post 109, which travels to Cherryville today before hosting Spartanburg on Thursday.
