Steven Michael Hallo and Katherine Marie Upchurch BLACKSBURG - Ricky and Angela Upchurch announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Marie, to Steven Michael Hallo, son of Paul and Christy Hallo of Grover, N.C.

Miss Upchurch is the granddaughter of Gilbert and Beth Dickson of Blacksburg and the late J.N. and Virginia Upchurch of Gaffney. A 2004 graduate of Blacksburg High School, she attends Spartanburg Community College for Early Childhood Education and works at Little Friends Childcare.

Mr. Hallo is the grandson of Lester Isler of Blacksburg, Edwin and Dorothy Hallo of Glendale, Calif., and Arlene Underwood. He graduated in 2001 from Kings Mountain High School and is a Lance Corporal in the United States Marines.

A July 18 wedding is planned at Antioch Baptist Church in Blacksburg.
