Tom Holstein

 
MONETTA - Memorial services for Thomas Davis "Tom" Holstein will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at St. John's United Methodist Church of Batesburg with the Revs. Jackie Connelly and John Kneece officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 24, from 6-8 p.m. at his home .

Mr. Holstein died Sunday June 21, 2009. Born in Richland County on Aug. 29, 1948, he was a son of the late Louise Jefferies and Richard Henry Holstein Jr. He was a member of St. John's UMC, the S.C. Farm Bureau and the S.C. Peach Council. He served on state committees for both the Farm Bureau and the Peach Council. He received a degree in Agronomy from Clemson University and was a farmer. Mr. Holstein was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a Second Lieutenant.

Surviving are his wife, Ann Carson Holstein; daughters, Kristin H. (Terry) Moore of Columbia, Dr. Ashlyn H. (Dr. Andrew) Savage of Charleston, Carson Elizabeth and Helen Jefferies Holstein of Monetta; brothers, R.H. (Dick) Holstein of Monetta and M. Jeff Holstein of North; a sister, Mary H. Derrick of Johnston; and his beloved grandsons, Connor Thomas Moore and Andrew John Savage V.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's UMC, 513 W.
