Two women were arrested for shoplifting nearly $600 in clothing from the Prime Outlets — Gaffney on June 20.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, an officer was called to the outlets at about 3:40 p.m. and told three women had stolen items and were about to leave.

The office wrote in a report the three women got out of their car and attempted to walk way as he arrived on the scene.

The officer caught two of the women and placed them in investigative custody, but he and outlet security could not locate the third woman.

When police searched the women's vehicle, they found numerous pieces of clothing from the Children's Place that had not been paid for. The items were subsequently valued at $597 and were returned to the store.

Amelia Lynette Henderson, 32, of Greer, and Brigid Sommerville, 38, of Akron, Ohio, were both arrested for shoplifting and transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center, according to police.

Their vehicle was towed from the scene.

A Salvation Army vehicle was vandalized between June 18 and June 19.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone punched the side of the 2007 Chevrolet box truck numerous times, causing an estimated $200 in damage, while it was parked in the 200 block of West Robinson Street.

Police said the truck was dusted for fingerprints and that they were able to lift one print.

An East Frederick Street business sustained pellet gun damage.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone caused about $350 in damage by shooting a window at Zig Boys two times between 6 p.m. June 18 and noon June 19.

An apartment at Connecticut Village was targeted by a burglar June 19.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone gained entry to an apartment at the East Junior High Road complex between 7:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. and took a cell phone, a digital music player and a set of keys valued at a combined $196.

A vehicle reported stolen out of Spartanburg County was found in Blacksburg.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office reported that a 1998 Honda Civic was found in the roadway of the 300 block of Moss Farm Road at about 5:20 p.m. June 19.

The vehicle is valued at $500.

A thief or thieves stole home gym equipment from a Green Farm Road, Chesnee, property recently.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone took a package containing a Total Gym workout machine from a porch in the 200 block between May 18 and June 21.

The equipment is valued at $1,800.

A suspect was listed in the report but no charges had been reported.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office reported the theft of an auto from a West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, car lot.

According to a police report, someone stole a burgundy 1998 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight from RKM Auto Sales between 8:30 p.m. June 19 and 3:30 p.m. June 21.

The vehicle is valued at $2,000.

Police are on the lookout for a vehicle reported stolen from Cowpens Pacolet Road.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone stole a 1997 Honda Civic from the 3300 block between 8 p.m. June 20 and 9 a.m. June 21.

The car has a black carbon fiber hood, teal green rear bumper and side skirts, a primer grey front bumper and a wing on the rear.

The car is valued at $9,000.

A shotgun and other items were reported stolen following the recent burglary of a Euphra Drive home.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone entered the home in the 200 block between June 11 and June 14 and took a 12-gauge double-barreled shotgun, a gold bracelet, a Poulan chain saw and a weed trimmer valued at a combined $900.

The Gaffney Police Department reported injuries to a bicyclist who was thrown from his bike while trying to avoid a loose dog on Shannon Drive.

According to police, the 36-year-old bicyclist flew over his handlebars, injuring his right knee and ankle, while trying to avoid an unknown black dog that had been running loose. The man had to be transported to Greenville for surgery.
