Eloise Horton Ruppe, 82, of 119 Healey Lane, Mooresboro, N.C., passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

A native of Cherokee County, she was born July 8, 1926, a daughter of the late John Belton Horton and Maude Hamrick Horton. She was a member of Lavonia Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bevin H. Ruppe.

Surviving are a brother, James W. Horton of Gaffney; three sisters, Minnie Dimond, Imogene H. Martin, both of Gaffney, and Mary E. Horton of Mooresboro; one niece; two nephews, two great-nieces; and three great-great-nieces.

Graveside services will be held Friday, June 26, at 10 a.m. at Cleveland Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held at the cemetery following the service.
