Nancy A. Aycock, 72, of Gaffney died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at the Hospice House of Union County.

Memorial services were held Thursday, June 25, at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Gaffney. The family greeted friends at the church for one hour prior to the services.

Nancy was born in Fayetteville, N.C., on Oct. 21, 1936, a daughter of the late Clyde T. and Elizabeth Allen Aycock. She was retired from the Cherokee County School System and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, serving with friends at church and supporting Relay for Life.

She is survived by her three children, Jane A. Caldwell (Kevin) of Charlotte, N.C., Renee A. Sorrells (Jeff) of Rock Hill and Michael T. Aycock (Jessica) of Matthews, N.C.; six grandchildren, Caroline Caldwell, Adam Caldwell, Grace Sorrells, Grant Sorrells, Addison Aycock, Ashleigh Aycock; and precious cousins and many friends.
