Post 109 jr. team wins doubleheader
The Post 109 American League Jr. team swept a doubleheader from Rock Hill on Thursday, 10-6 and 12-0.
In game one, Bryon Munsterman got the win, scattering seven hits and striking out three.
Grayson Goforth, Ryan Greene and Matt Gault all had two hits for Post 109. Gault also had four RBIs.
Post 109 scored a run in the second, three runs in the third, four in the fourth and two more runs in the fifth.
In the second game, Gault got the win. Goforth continued his hot hitting, going 3 for 4 at the plate.
Dylan Huskey, Gault, Alex Trammel and Ryan Frock each had two hits for Post 109, which improves to 7-2.
Post 109 will conclude the regular season with a doubleheader Tuesday with Lancaster.
The team is hoping for a large crowd for its final home game.
Peach Festival
golf tourney
Golfers will take to the Cherokee National Golf Course on Friday, July 17, for the annual South Carolina Peach Festival golf tournament.
The golf tournament is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. The format is Captain's Choice. All teams should have a minimum handicap of 30.
A captain's meeting will be held at 12:45 p.m. The entry fee is $300 per team and is due when entry form is turned in.

Peach Festival

The South Carolina Peach Festival will hold its annual road race events Saturday, July 11, at Limestone College.
A 5K walk and a 10K run will start at 7:30 a.m. The Saints Club One Mile will begin at 8:45 a.m.Only participants registered by July 3 are guaranteed a T-shirt and gift bag.
The cost for the Saints Club One Mile race is $10. The cost for participating in the 5K walk and 10K run is $15 before July 3. After this date, the cost increases to $20.
