Gaffney Rotary Club installs new officers
The Gaffney Rotary Club held its year-end meeting Tuesday and celebrated its annual changing of the guard.
Assistant District Governor Jim Cook issued the oaths of office to incoming president Dean Painter and the new board of directors and officers.
Outgoing President Phil Orr turned the gavel over to Painter and was then presented by Painter with the traditional president’s gavel and plaque for Orr’s year of service as the club’s chief officer.
Several members were presented certificates for perfect attendance, including Wylie Hamrick, who not only had perfect attendance for the 2008-2009 Rotary year, but also has not missed a meeting for the past 50 years.
The video here shows the traditional year-end ceremony, beginning with Orr presenting a donation to the club, followed by Cook addressing the club and then the installation of new officers.
