Union sweeps Post 109 to win league

"I'm very disappointed in the effort," said Clary after his team was beaten 5-2 and 4-3 by Union on Wednesday.
Union secured the league championship with the victories. However, both teams have qualified for the playoffs. Beginning Monday, Post 109 will play Lancaster in a best-of-three series.
In game two of the doubleheader against Union, Post 109 wasted a solid pitching performance from Kaleb Earls, who scattered five hits and struck out five.
Post 109 actually had a chance to tie the game in the top of the fifth but Jonathan Smith was thrown out at the plate.
Union roughed up Earls for three runs in the first and another one in the second but wouldn't cross the plate again.
Post 109 finally broke through with a run in the fourth on Clay McKowen's sacrifice fly that scored Jonathan Smith.
Post 109 pulled within a run in the fifth when Brion Munsterman walked and Alex Trammel and Smith followed with singles. Ryan Greene lined a shot for a double but Smith was tagged out at the plate on a close play to end the threat.
Munsterman took the loss in the first game, allowing six hits and five runs.
Post 109 tied the game at 1 with a run in the second when Ryan Frock reached on an error to score Greene, who doubled.
Union went on top 5-1 with four runs in the third inning. Post 109 scored its other run in the third on back-to-back hits by Dylan Huskey and Smith, who is hitting over .600 for the season.
