The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is investigating the robbery of a Battleground Road man.

According to a police report, a subject came into the Battleground Road residence of a 56- year-old man at about 4:50 a.m. June 25.

The subject assaulted the victim by pushing him to the ground and then took $40 in cash and a bottle of methadone pills.

A thief or thieves targeted another convenience store for the theft of cigarettes.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office reported that someone broke out the front door to the Corner Stop at 393 Hampton St. at approximately 3:10 a.m. June 26.

The thief or thieves stole an unknown amount of Newport cigarettes.

Theft and damages losses are estimated at about $1,000.

The Gaffney Police Department reported the attempted break-in of an East Jefferies Street home.

According to a police report, a resident of the 200 block was taking his dog for a walk outdoors at about 11:05 p.m. when he came across someone trying to open one of his windows.

The homeowner yelled towards the individual, who ran away from the scene.

An auto trailer was reported stolen from a West Floyd Baker Boulevard business.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone took an auto transporter trailer from Gaffney Self Storage sometime around March 16 but the theft only recently was reported.

The missing auto trailer, valued at $7,500, was discovered during a check of inventory.
