Gov. Sanford issues statement on Gaffney murders

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Governor Mark Sanford today issued the following statement on the recent string of homicides in the Gaffney area:

"We've all watched and been shocked by news of the recent murders in Cherokee County," Gov. Sanford said.

"I've been briefed by Chief Reggie Lloyd on the situation today. I'd ask South Carolinians to join my family and me in prayer for the grieving families of the victims, and to thank all levels of law enforcement who have been and continue to work on this case."
