Workshop scheduled to help residents cope with fear, stress of shootings

By SCOTT POWELL The Gaffney Ledger spowell@gaffneyledger.com

The P.A.C.E. Center will present a free workshop Thursday, July 9, at 2 p.m. on coping with the fears, stress and anxiety so many Cherokee County residents are experiencing following last week's shooting deaths.

The workshop will be held in the conference room on the Cherokee County branch campus of Spartanburg Community College.

The P.A.C.E Center will have free materials on managing stress and anxiety and how to help children deal with this difficult situation.

The presenter will be nationally recognized counselor Dr. Roger Rhoades, who has been featured on The View, Montell Williams Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The P.A.C.E. Center is a nonprofit mental health center in Spartanburg. The Center has a grant program to provide free counseling to adults and children who have lost a close relative to violent crime.
