Miss McIntosh, Mr. Nichols wed June 20

MRS. ROBERT GUY NICHOLS (Elizabeth Chambers McIntosh) MRS. ROBERT GUY NICHOLS (Elizabeth Chambers McIntosh) Miss Elizabeth Chambers McIntosh of Gaffney, South Carolina and Mr. Robert Guy Nichols of Greenwood, South Carolina were married at 6 p.m. June 20th at Chimney Rock Baptist Church in Lake Lure, North Carolina.

Pastor James Edward Brown Jr. of Gaffney officiated the ceremony.

Bagpiper Mr. Ken Swinton of Boiling Springs, South Carolina played as the guests entered the church.

Wedding music was presented by pianist Mrs. Deryl Palmisano Stevens and vocalists Miss Shannon Alisa Stevens and Holly Shea Stevens.

The bride is the daughter of Doctor and Mrs. Donald Munro McIntosh II of Gaffney, South Carolina. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lessie Barker Johnson of Gaffney, and the late Charles Franklin Rutherford, and the late Dr. and Mrs Archibald Nock McIntosh Sr. of Marion, North Carolina.

She is a graduate of USC Upstate with a Bachelor's degree in Experimental Psychology and is currently pursuing a dual Master's degree in Divinity and Mental Health from Gardner- Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.

The bride-groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Guy Nichols Jr. of Greenwood, South Carolina. He is the grandson of Mrs. Evelyn Horne Jordan and the late John Franklin Jordan and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Guy Nichols Sr. of Greenwood.

He is a graduate of Lander University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Marketing, and is currently pursuing a second degree in Physical Therapy at Greenville Technical College. Robert is employed by Genesis Healthcare in Gaffney, South Carolina.

Miss Rachel Holmes McIntosh of Raleigh, North Carolina, the bride's sister was maid of honor.

Miss Raleigh McKenzie Nichols of Greer, South Carolina, the groom's niece was the flower girl.

The bride was attired in an elegant champagne gown featuring a sweetheart neckline encrusted with pearls and swarovski crystals. The bodice design was crisscross satin with ruching on the soft a-line skirt, and a semi cathedral train enhanced with a central line of crystals donning the length of the train. Her semi cathedral veil was embellished with beads, crystals and pearls. She carried a bouquet of mixed white and ivory peonies, garden roses and antique green hydrangea, which was hand tied with double satin ribbon and crystals.

Mr. Cecil Guy Nichols, Jr. of Greenwood, the groom's father, served as the best man.

Ushers were Mr. Donald Munro McIntosh IV of Gaffney, the bride's brother, and Mr. Michael Franklin Nichols of Greenville, and Mr. Jason Scott Nichols of Greer, the groom's brothers.

Master Lawson Andrew Pope of Yorktown, Virginia, the bride's cousin was ring bearer.

Miss Elizabeth Grace Klauber of Greenville, niece of groom was the program attendant. Miss Stacey Dittrich Mahlar of Denver, Colorado was register attendant.

A Rehearsal Dinner was held at LaStrada by the Lake in Lake Lure, North Carolina.

Preceding the wedding, a monogram shower and dinner was given in honor of Elizabeth and Robert by Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Ezell at their Lake Bowen home and by Mr. and Mrs. Terry Queen, Sr. of Gaffney.

In celebration of their marriage a barbeque was given by Dr. and Mrs. James Mac Carroll, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gaino, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Hamrick, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lewis all of Gaffney and Mrs. Laura Emrich of Pineville, North Carolina.

A Luau by the pool with dinner and dancing lessons was given in their honor by Mr. and Mrs. William Rose, Mrs. Kathy Brannon, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Brock, Mrs. Chasity Hamrick, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Scruggs of Gaffney.

A kitchen and bath shower was given in the couple's honor by the Couples II Sunday School Class and friends of South Main Street Baptist Church in Greenwood, South Carolina.

The bride's parents, Dr. and Mrs. Donald Munro McIntosh II were hosts of the reception at the 1927 Lake Lure Inn.

Guests were greeted at the inn by Mr. and Mrs. Jason Ray Melton of Inman and Mr. and Mrs.Grady Terry Queen Sr. of Gaffney.

Junior attendants Miss Kaitlin Mikel Nichols and Miss Erin Campbell Nichols, nieces of the groom presented monogrammed rice bags to the guests.

After a wedding trip to Ocho Rios Jamaica, the couple will reside in Shelby, North Carolina.
