BLACKSBURG - Teresa Lynn "Goonie" Blankenship, 35, of 190 Danny Lane, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2009.

Born in Hyattsville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Gerald Eugene Blankenship and Coleen Carol Ryan Blankenship of Blacksburg. She worked as a cashier at the Dollar Tree.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three sons, Dillon Shane Blankenship, Justin Adam Blankenship and Jose Auturo Blankenship, all of the home; a daughter, Brittany Michelle Blankenship of the home; five brothers, Gerald Eugene Blankenship Jr. of Blacksburg, Billy Devon Blankenship, Clifton Blankenship, Randy Blankenship, all of Smyrna,and Lance Blankenship of Cowpens; and two sisters, Jody Elizabeth Wyatt of Blacksburg and Melony Blankenship of Smyrna.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11, at 3 p.m. at Smyrna Baptist Church with the Rev. Lester Haney officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
