Rosa Fernanders
Rosa Mae Coleman Fernanders, 77, of 345 W. 3rd St., widow of Romaine Fernanders Sr., passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009, at 1:03 a.m. at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.
She is survived by seven children, Romain Fernanders Jr., Bobby Fernanders, Betty Lopez, Bennie Lee Fernanders, all of Gaffney, Vonnie Gist of Union, Carrie Fernanders and Rena James, both of Winston-Salem, N.C.; nine step-children, D. G. Herndon of Dallas, N.C., Mildred Byers, Sarah Kirby, John Fernanders, Kevin Fernanders, Marion Fernanders, Elizabeth Fernanders, Pamela Camp and James Fernanders, all of Gaffney; four brothers, Medford Coleman, Frank Coleman, both of Winston Salem, Willie Coleman of Shelby and Tony Shippy of Forest City; 14 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Service will be held Wednesday, July 8, at 2 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church with Dr. A. L. Brackett and the Revs. Timothy Bowers, Wade Wallace and Mark Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be Rudolph Freeman, Willie Farley, James Fernanders, Calvin Dowdle and Kelvin Fernanders.
The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Pablo and Betty Lopez at 113 E. Allen St.
