Born in Cherokee County, he was the son of Carolyn Hughey Hambright and the late Joe Dean Hambright. He was formerly employed in the textiles industry, was a graduate of Blacksburg High School and of the Baptist faith.

      Hazel Eugenia Keaton Linder, 83, of 114 Buck Shoals Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at her home. Born in Anderson, she was the widow of Blucher Edgar Linder Jr. and daughter of the late Earl Keaton and Sadie Matthews Keaton. Mrs. Linder retired after 44 years as a teacher and received the Teacher of the Year Award in Cherokee County.
