Stephen Tyler

Stephen Hyland Tyler, 48, of 189 Farm Wind Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 2, 2009.

Born in Horry County, he was the husband of Kim Barnhill Tyler, the father of the late Abby Leigh Tyler, and the son of Carolyn Graham Campbell and Johnny Campbell of Gaffney. He was the coowner/ operator of Tyler Home Center and a graduate of Wofford College. Mr. Tyler was a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, church treasurer and Sunday School teacher.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Megan Tyler of the home; and a brother, Shannon Tyler and wife, Stephanie, of Gaffney.

Services will be held Wednesday, July 8, at 4 p.m. at Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Clyde Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

Visitation was held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, 805 Cherokee Ave., Gaffney, SC 29340.

The family will be at the residence.
